A Mini Art Gallery

A few nights ago, after receiving a bunch of stamps in the mail, I decided to sit down and do something with my fast growing collection. I grabbed my smash journal that I am filling with letters and other miscellaneous items I'm sent from all over the world. The first page you open it up to was just a plain black page. I started laying the stamps out to see how they would look. After a few were down it looked like a mini art gallery to me. So I decided that I would go ahead and glue them down. I'll end up cutting more sheets of black card stock and doing a fold out to keep adding to the collection as well. I love looking at my stamps. I don't know why, but there is just something aesthetically pleasing about them. I hope I keep receiving awesome stamps from all over and maybe I'll get some duplicates to trade and sent to others as well. A huge thanks to anyone who has sent me stamps because I really do love and appreciate them.

So with this all I got was the front side of an envelope...the space where my address goes...and that's it. No clue where it came from or who it is from. Why even deliver this? Now I feel like I'll never know who sent this or what was in it. Bummer. Which will give me a new category for the blog...Mystery Mail.

Last week I received another letter from my PenPal Karen in Hong Kong. When I read her letter it felt like I was reading something I would have written. I can tell this is going to be a great PenPal experience. With this letter she sent me some Hong Kong Disneyland brochures and a shopping bag from there. I did not scan the envelope due to damage to the stamps.

Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens

On Saturday November 22, my family and I took a trip to Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens located at 1445 Millcoe Rd., Jacksonville, Fl 32225. We have never been before so it was nice to see and do something we haven't done before in our home city. Located right off a semi-busy road this place is a lush forest and gardens area with nature trails to walk through. Here is a photo journey of our adventures that day. I hope you enjoy them!

Here are photos I added to my Instagram as well from the day:

Which photo is your favorite? I'd love to turn some of these into postcards.
