Weekend Road Trip Part IV

We finished at Rock City around 6:30ish. Still early in the evening, we decided to get checked into our hotel and go and grab some dinner. While Jesse was checking in I hopped on Foursquare and started researching some nearby restaurants. We're always in the mood for tacos so of course, that was my first search. Within 2 miles of our hotel was a place called Taco Roc. Had over twenty positive reviews and not one single bad review. We agreed to give it a try. At first we passed it because it was just a little hole in the wall place with barley any signage. We placed our order at the counter and grabbed a seat. Within 10 minutes we had our food. I grabbed different salsas from the salsa bar to try. Now we eat a lot of tacos. A LOT! These were different though, and so very flavorful. Some of the best tacos we've ever had. If you're ever in Chattanooga, Tennessee look them up. They were cheap and very delicious.
After dinner we decided to check out the area some and head towards the mall for some snacks at the hotel. We ended up passing by this guy along our way.

We ended up at Walmart, grabbed our snacks and called it a night. The next morning we awoke with a certain sadness in us that our trip was coming to an end. Jesse had just a couple more stops planned before we really hit the highway home. Up first was the Atomic Mouse of Georgia. I thought this guy was pretty darn cute...and cheesy.

After a visit with the mouse we decided to grab a much needed breakfast. We came across a Shoney's on our way to our second stop. I swear there's just some places you go and old memories just come back to you. I haven't had Shoney's in at least 10 years. We sat down and got the all you can eat breakfast bar. We filled ourselves up and reminisced at the view of mountains then headed on our way. We were searching for Sam's Treehouse when we passed this BB&T Park with some cool public artwork. I especially loved the junk band sculpture.

This classic beauty above was parked outside the park with no owner around in sight. I wanted to get a photo of Amara in front of it, but just in case, I didn't think it would be a good idea without the owners approval. Just a block down the ways and we arrived at Sams Treehouse. Now this is a residential home so we didn't get out of the car and go snooping around. If you'd like to see better photographs of the house you can visit the website here.

Originally we passed this arh on our way to find Sams Treehouse and I mentioned I'd like to go back for a photo. It's completely roped off and no parking near by. We ended up parking across the street in a closed business parking lot and snapped our photo.

At some point on our journey Amara lost one of her Walking Dead pennies and was completely distraught with sadness. Since we left earlier in the morning than originally intended Jesse made the decision we could go back, and also look for something he missed on the way up. An original Walt Disney World Monorail. I had seen the news stories of it being up for auction on ebay and everything, but didn't think I'd actually ever see it sitting on a trailer in Georgia. Jesse knew I would cherish this one because of how much I love Disney.

And look who I found painted on their shed at the back of the property.

We made it back to "Woodbury" and I decided to take some more photos. We talked with one of the staff members for a moment who told us about a spot at the bottom of Main St. where AMC is currently building a set for upcoming episodes of The Walking Dead. After replacing Amaras penny and taking some photos we headed out on our way home. I am not posting the set building photos here. I will make a seperate post about them on another day maybe, but here are our Sunday pics we took in the store.

It would be long drive home with minimal stops along the way. Amara and myself took this opportunity to take a nap. We stopped close to Florida for gas and found something unexpected. Our second cow statue. Jesse had not planned this one so this one was an extra for our trip and the last thing we would see. I hope you guys enjoyed following along and viewing all of the photos from the trip.
