Homeschool Adventures - Castillo de San Marcos

Now that my daughter is home schooled, I'm able to spend more time doing fun things with her better suited to her learning style. One of the first things we did when transitioning from public school to homeschool was we purchased an annual pass to all national parks. Our first park we visited was Castillo de San Marcos in the beautiful city of St. Augustine. If you're a regular visitor of my blog you may have seen postcards from there get sent out. Most National Parks (maybe all) have a junior ranger program where you can complete an activity book to earn a badge and/or patch. We spent the day with our own personal guide, who was absolutely amazing. His name is Dan Thompson and works as a volunteer at the fort. He took us all around giving us backstories and history of the fort. Here are some of our photos from our trip. I hope you enjoy.
